Hi Folks! About a year ago, I was a bridesmaid in my dear friend, Jeleah's, wedding. We were taking photos when I asked a fellow bridesmaid to send me a picture she had just taken. She offered to set up an iCloud sharing folder for all of the bridesmaids to use instead so that we could all access the photos from our respective iPhones. I had no idea what this was or how it worked until after that weekend, and since then, I use this photo sharing technique all of the time.
The purpose of Photo sharing is to create a folder (on the oh-so-mysterious iCloud) that many different people/cell phones have access to. At the previously stated wedding, the bride and bridesmaids all could upload their individually taken photos to a folder where the rest of the bridal party could see and download the picture. Everyone might already know about this, but I thought I could share 4 ways to use Phone sharing with a quick tutorial.

1. Wedding Party - There are so many photo-ops in a typical wedding weekend: the bachelorette party, the rehearsal wedding and dinner, the pedicure and hair salon, the lounging around and hanging out, and of course the wedding itself. With many people involved in the festivities, it makes sense to have a place to drop all of those photos. This will save you from a weekend full of constant, "hey, will you send me that picture!?"...let's get those pictures centralized for convenience sake.

2. Traveling with Friends - We set up an Photo sharing folder when my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew visited us in San Francisco. Instead of handing an innocent bystander 4 phones to capture us in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, we could just hand them one. That person would then upload that beautiful photo in front of the Golden Gate to our folder so we could all have easy access to it.
3. With Your Husband/Wife/Significant Other - Taylor takes pictures. I take pictures. This way we get to see all of the pictures that we want to share with each other. (They are mostly of our dogs. We have a folder titled "Our Puppy Children" for this reason.) Sometimes, I take pictures of Taylor taking pictures.
4. New Babies - The most popular Photo sharing folder on my phone is my nephew's folder! He is the first grandson on both sides which makes him the most photographed person in our family's history. Both sets of grandparents, his parents, and his aunts and uncles can view and add photos, so no one is missing out on his various shenanigans. Also, how cute is his Up! costume? My sister is so creative.
Here is how you can set up your own shared folder on your iPhone...
Do you use Photo sharing? How do you store and organize your photos? I want to take more photos this year, so I am hoping sharing this tutorial will encourage me to do so!
