Taylor and I built a King bed! I used to think K I N G B E D S were obnoxious in their size, but then I got married and lost half of my bed space. Add two puppies, and I was approaching negative bed space. Taylor had been wanting a King bed for months, so we took the plunge after finding a helpful blog post from Kiwi and Peach. We followed their plans almost exactly, including their supply list, but made adjustments for our bed to include Pretty Pegs. We love the gold accent on the feet.
Here are some of the pictures of the process.
I'm afraid my summary makes it seem more simple than it actually was, but Taylor and I were making adjustments as we went. A couple of things that we did that we think was helpful and some warnings.
1. Build the bed in the room it is going to live in.
2. Wait to stain it until you assemble it. That way you can only stain what you see.
3. Don't forget to add legs in the middle of your bed. Taylor and I forgot this step! It wasn't until we were about to fall asleep that Taylor remembered this. Thank goodness.
Here is another lovely picture of our beautiful, new bed!
