Download: 2016 Calendar

With 2016 being just days away, I made a little desk calendar for you* to download, print, and display!  Here is a little preview. 

I think they are pretty darn cute.  Enjoy!  (Just enter in your email address, and a window should pop up with the entire calendar for you to download.  You might have to hover your mouse near the bottom of the page for the download/save icon to appear.)

Christmas Cards: Displaying and Storing

This year we almost got Christmas cards mailed out.  We talked about what type of picture we might use.  We even purchased some red and green bandannas for the pups to wear, but we never got around to actually taking the photos.  There is still time (maybe) to send New Years cards out, but I don't see it transpiring.  It is 11 am on Monday, and I am still wearing my pajamas if that gives you an idea of what is happening over here.

Anyway, I do love getting Christmas cards!  Mail is never sweeter than in the month of December.  (And I get to admire everyone's return address stamps.  I really must get one of those now that we have a permanent address. We have one, but it is in Comic Sans.)

Here is how I display my lovely cards during this season.  My Christmas tree is not super lush, so the branches make excellent shelves for the cards to rest on.  This is not new information by the way; my mother did this to our Christmas tree too. And I am sure there are people out there who have been doing this for ages as well.

I don't know what the norm is for what you do with cards after Christmas, but I have seen from my sister and a couple of friends that binding them and keeping them for the year is a sweet way to think about and pray for the people in your life.

So I just take them all down and stare longingly at the people who have their lives enough together to send cards. Then I do the following.

1. Stack your cards with your largest card on top (or maybe the design/picture you like best) and use a pencil to mark the paper that you need to remove.

2. Cut excess paper off the cards that are sticking out.

3. Bind it however you see fit.  You could hole punch the corner and put it on a ring.  I opted to clip it with a beautiful gold binder clip I got in my stocking (my husband gets me).

This would make an excellent addition to your coffee table (or mini table in our case.)  I like that the binder clip allows me to easily change who is on the front too.  Also, that is Pedro doing his morning sprints.
